Sleep Better At Night By Eating These Foods
Most people enjoy getting a good night’s sleep. Laying in bed restless with work the next day is a very frustrating place to be in. There are some foods that can hep you sleep better.
There are some foods that will keep you up and awake at night like caffeine, fats, and sugars, but there are others that will help assist with sleep helping you get more rest.
The first type of food that many refer to as “comfort foods” are those higher in carbohydrates. The reason for this is that these foods like breads, pastas, and others tend to make people feel relaxed and sleepy after eating them. The strategy here is not to load up on a huge meal like this before bed else that can keep you up. Make sure that you eat these and feel well fed but not overly full by the time you actually go to bed.
Teas have been known to help people sleep. While these do have some traces of caffeine in them, it should not effect your sleep too negatively. Teas can help you relax so that you can eventually fall asleep. At times the hot water in the tea helps break up sinus problems helping someone sleep better once they lay down for bed.
Another type of food to look for are those high in what’s called tryptophan. These would include things like milk, cheeses, and other dairy products as well as eggs, beans, and nuts. This type of food in most people will help them relax and become more sleepy. Have a small snack like this about an hour before you go to sleep to aid in the process.
While foods aren’t the complete solution to a sleeping problem because at times there can be bigger sleep issues there, they can help aid you get a better night’s rest.
