this is so…so simple and yet it tears me apart every time i listen. I just keep coming back over and over. It’s comforting to know that, in a universe full of pain and suffering and great evil, that in this imperfect universe there exists great, unmoving beauty.

I couldn’t agree more. That, I think, is the Beauty of Religion. It makes us look away from ourselves and Upward to God. And that is why I think -essentially- all religions therefore….lead to God.
As for esthetics, this is a glorious piece of music. The Orthodox Church does not allow musical instruments of any sort. The human voice only. I think that leads to the visceral blow of Wonder, Joy, Sorrow, and Praise.

Very monastic in the beginning. The Alleluia reverse is very stunning too. It can be said that it is the best reverse that I have ever heard

It is Pure Gold. It is Heaven’s Breath! When I die and I hope to be a bit longer, I want this played. It has all the elements. What a prayer. I saw and heard the Britsh Choral Festival at the National Cathedral this May.

that is just christianity Im sure the other religous texts would disagree with you too. It is a nice idea that all religions lead to God but it is just not realistic.
