I have a lump on my tongue and it kindah stings and im 14 and i smoke … but im stoppin and whenever i get like a random lump im always scared that ive got cancer…

Erm question .. if you get mouth cancer or any cancer are u guaranteed to die or is it rele likely or its the a good chance of surviving it comment back please. many thanks

  2. UKdude90 Says:

if your 14 im guesseing you havent smoked for long? so if it is cancer its probably not caused by smoking, also your not always garenturred to die if you get cancer now days theres a fairly high rate of survival.

  3. padude64 Says:

No way! It could be a local infection or even something you ate!
Do not be scared! Get it checked out and I am sure you will be fine. The lump on your tongue may in fact be an ulcer.

I have a small( about the size of a grain of rice) hard , whitish lump on the left edge of my tongue. Not painful, I’ve had it for about 3 months. My doctor has referred me to an oral surgeon, how worried should I be. I’m a 46 year old non smoker, with low alcohol intake.

you know on the top of your mouth on both sides? like ur gums i got like twoo thickings their almost identical in the same place but like my mom has them too but she doesnt smoke or drink or chew. by step dad says it fine. ive chewed on and off for almost 2 and a half years. not every day maybe like a dip per day and a half. should i be worried. and does everyone have that kinda?

  13. PITTSBURGHFANFOREVER Says:

Have your mouth examined first by a dentist then by an oral cancer specialist, your main concern should be in these two areas; cancer of the throat and \ or cancer of the esophagus.
Most people do not get cancer of the mouth, your growths may be hereditary, but you can develope inflammation of mouth tissue beneath your gumline and within the lining of your mouth, any swelling, pain or discharge see your dentist as soon as possible, better safe than sorry.

Just an abnormality probably, if it doesn’t go away after a few weeks get it checked out.

  19. phage74 Says:

it’s probably your wisdom teeth beginning to grow in. If they cause discomfort your dentist will tell you if they need to be removed. Usually wisdom teeth are removed even if they are not causing any problem

  20. Kitsune Says:

    Probably an abscess.
